Largest Study Ever Done on Mammograms States They Are Pointless and Dangerous

All doctors advise women to take a mammogram on an annual basis as the number one measure of precaution against breast cancer but recent research suggests that this isn’t as necessary as we used to believe.

According to the latest research mammograms are not only pointless but can also be dangerous. However, this isn’t something your doctor will tell you as everything in conventional medicine revolves around money-making and profit.

It turns out that mammography is rarely useful and we often come across false positives, overtreatment and there are even cases of radiation-induced cancers. The largest study conducted in recent years which involved more than 90000 women and lasted for 25 years shows that there are some serious doubts in regards to mammograms.

The study revealed that the mortality rate from breast cancer was the same in the women who took a mammogram and those who didn’t. Moreover, it was revealed that this screening test can even have detrimental results as many times it gives false positive results are women undergo unnecessary surgeries and treatments.

We mentioned false positives and the dangers that come with it but did you know you can also get a false negative on your screening? This means that the very machine that’s supposed to tell you if you have cancer can miss the life-threatening disease it was designed to detect!

The National Cancer Institute reveals that mammograms can miss more than 20% of cancers even though the patient had it at the time of the screening. Why? Well, early stage cancer can be super difficult to diagnose and with these types of invasive cancers the most important thing is to catch it in the early stages. But the problem is not just in the machine, the doctors who read the screens are not required to have some special expertise and they’re the ones who often miss it.

So even if you get a mammogram there’s no telling if the result is reliable, if it’s a false negative or positive and you’re left wondering what to do next.

Realizing the flaws of the old mammogram, they designed an improved version called 3D Tomosynthesis which is supposed to be better and more reliable, but what does it really do? Exposes you to higher levels of radiation, twice the amount of the old mammogram. And now doctors advise that you should continue taking the old 2D version regularly in addition to the new improved version, more radiation for you and more money for them.
