Even though mice aren’t a lovely sight around the house, they’re still much better than seeing a rat in your home. Rats are dangerous for your overall health and can wreak havoc around the house, biting wires, digging holes and destroying everything they set their mind to. They can appear everywhere where there’s food, even crumbs can attract them which is why it’s important to keep your house clean and crumbs free at all times if you want to avoid this problem.
If you’re having rodent troubles and you simply can’t find a way to get rid of them, here are a few effective solutions which will help you keep them out of your house:
The best solutions for rodent infestation
If you have rodents you can try using mousetraps. Place them around the house, in the corners and lay in wait.
- Ultrasonic mice scavengers
These devices have become especially popular recently and are quite effective. The ultrasound spreads around the house and deters the rats from entering. The sound is unnoticeable for people so there’s no harm in using these devices.
- Rodent glue
This is a simple but effective way to get rid of rodents. Buy the specialized glue and apply it on a large cardboard. The rats will stick to the glue and be unable to move. The glue will trap all the rodents and you’ll get rid of them all at once.
- Peppermint oil
Pour a few drops of peppermint oil in small containers and place them around the house, at the places you’ve seen rodents. Rodents can’t stand the smell of peppermint and will flee from it.
- Hot spice flakes
Sprinkle some hot spice flakes all around the house and mix them with some parmesan flakes so that the rodents are attracted to them. They will eat the hot spice flakes along with the cheese flakes and never return to your house again.
- Hot Spices
Just as with the hot spice flakes, spread some hot sauce around the house. Rodents cannot tolerate hot spices and this will keep them at bay.
- Cats as pets
Having cats as pets can be a nice way to keep your house rodent free. Of course there are some cats that don’t hunt rodents and are lazy but most of them are predators and will not allow anything in or out of the house.
